The weather forecast today was for rain and thunderstorms, but it was looking pretty safe around 10:00 this morning, and low tide was around 11:00. I figured I wouldn’t get time to play, but I wanted to have a look around and take a short stroll through the bog, if nothing else.
The weather was threatening the entire time I was out. You may notice raindrops hitting the water in a couple of the photos in this post. As it turned out, I got home before it really started pouring.
After walking around in the swamp grass and inspecting a few locations for future “in-depth” exploration, I stripped off my jeans and set up my Nikon to take a series of photos at 10 second intervals. A video would have been boring, and I never seem to get decent high resolution photos, so this was my chance to roll the dice on some still photos. It was sprinkling, so I had to keep my shoot short. Out of the 15’ish photos the camera snapped, I found a few I liked. My favorite is in the upper left corner of this post. At 16 mega-pixels, you can count the threads in my nylon shorts.
Speaking of nylon shorts, the shorts I wore are some boys bike shorts I bought a long time ago that I modified to be much shorter. I had worn them in a couple of mud videos, and I’ve always liked the way they fit, but I don’t like long shorts. So, I spent a couple of those long, dark winter nights, tailoring them to make them more my style.
The last photo is just a wide shot of the area I was exploring. There is some great mud around there. I can’t wait for a nice day to dig a little deeper. 🙂
