Exploring

_DJT4343The weather forecast today was for rain and thunderstorms, but it was looking pretty safe around 10:00 this morning, and low tide was around 11:00. I figured I wouldn’t get time to play, but I wanted to have a look around and take a short stroll through the bog, if nothing else.

The weather was threatening the entire time I was out. You may notice raindrops hitting the water in a couple of the photos in this post. As it turned out, I got home before it really started pouring.

_DJT4329After walking around in the swamp grass and inspecting a few locations for future “in-depth” exploration, I stripped off my jeans and set up my Nikon to take a series of photos at 10 second intervals. A video would have been boring, and I never seem to get decent high resolution photos, so this was my chance to roll the dice on some still photos. It was sprinkling, so I had to keep my shoot short. Out of the 15’ish photos the camera snapped, I found a few I liked. My favorite is in the upper left corner of this post. At 16 mega-pixels, you can count the threads in my nylon shorts.

_DJT4323Speaking of nylon shorts, the shorts I wore are some boys bike shorts I bought a long time ago that I modified to be much shorter. I had worn them in a couple of mud videos, and I’ve always liked the way they fit, but I don’t like long shorts. So, I spent a couple of those long, dark winter nights, tailoring them to make them more my style.

The last photo is just a wide shot of the area I was exploring. There is some great mud around there. I can’t wait for a nice day to dig a little deeper. 🙂

    Hello Doug…

It’s been awhile, but I’ve been doing six weeks of rehab from the left knee replacement surgery,…first in-house physical therapy, then a couple of weeks more of that without a therapist, and now out -patient physical therapy. According to both the surgeon and the physical therapists I’m doing extraordinarily good at healing up. I’m walking without cane or walker or anything…usually about 12 blocks twice a day…and then, I do two sessions of stationary cycling for 11 minutes a session, and twice daily bed exercises for extension and flexion. Keeps me busy. I’m looking forward to getting back to the beach soon…and, hopefully by September or October, some beach running and some mud adventures, especially next Fall when our rainy season begins.

I must say you do have an uncanny way of finding the best, sexiest gear for your mud adventures. In the clip STUCK, fully clothed was so incredibly a turn on, as you slowing sank into the mud. Great video. I’ll be visiting Hendersonville in July…already have the flight booked.

Looking forward to coming adventures. Cheers. Dennis

I hope your knee has a full recovery. I think it will be warm by the time you get here in July. Thanks for the comments. I’m really hoping to get stuck again, soon!

    Nice looking photos
Good look in the short shorts should have coupled it with a nice cropped tee though lol
    Glad you’re recovered

Hey, Andy! Sorry about the missing tee. I agree, it would have made a nice addition to the wardrobe.
