This update is a little late. I was out last week on Thursday and I stopped by my peat mud hole to see how it weathered the winter. I hadn’t really planned to sink, because it was getting late, but the peat mud looked so good, I had to jump in for a quick struggle. I did shoot some video on the GoPro, but I didn’t set up an audio recorder, or my main camera. The images in this post are from the GoPro video.
I went out, again today, but I went out at high tide to paddle around and explore the upper reaches of a small creek. I inadvertently found some quicksand that was about crotch deep. I don’t know if I could make a video in that spot, but it was kind of fun, getting swallowed, unexpectedly, by the harmless looking sand. I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last you’ll hear about that spot. I will have to go back there, sometime, just for the novelty of it. Next time, I’ll get some video.
In any case, I’m doing pretty well. The weather is warming up. The forecast is for temperatures in the 80’s tomorrow (26+ Celsius). The low tide tomorrow will be pretty late, so I doubt I’ll do much in the mud, but I might go out in my kayak if I have nothing else I need to do.
Like the red briefs in the two photos. Looking forward to seeing a clip from the quicksand site…that intrigues me a lot.
wow
I agree with Dolphin that quicksand sounds great
I’ve always dreamt of sinking into a sandy looking quicksand trap
You have to film it soon
I hope its pretty deep too
Alright, guys, there is no need to gang up on me. 😉
The quicksand is not too far from a bridge. I might bicycle there and investigate it further. It would be fun to get stuck and have to break the grip of the quicksand. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to go under; it’s only about waist deep, at best.
Lol
don’t forget jeans or denim shorts and white cropped tee please
would look excellent trapped and being sucked down into quicksand
