Spotless Vacation

Posted by on August 8, 2013

toocleanI’ve been away for a while. I was visiting friends in Minnesota. I was hoping to get muddy while I was up there, but I just didn’t have time to explore, or coordinate with any of the mudders I know up there. If I hadn’t been visiting a friend in Iowa, I might have gone slogging in one of several rivers I crossed in Iowa that were low and muddy. Some of them looked like they had great potential, but I was expected for dinner and I just didn’t have time to find a spot, play, and get cleaned up.

So, I’ve been pretty darn clean, the past 2 weeks. I’m back home, now, and I’m chomping at the bit to get muddy. The low tide is really early in the morning, right now, so I’ll have to wait until next week to visit the swamp, but I might take advantage of the clay pit in the back yard this weekend. It’s going to take all day, Friday, to get caught up in the office.

The good news is that I made it to Minnesota and back in one piece, and there wasn’t any severe weather while I was gone, nor did anyone break into the house or burn it down. Once I get back on track here, things should get back to normal, and I’ll be back in the swamp, making up for all of that clean time.

I used a clean picture for this entry because it seemed like the thing to do, and I had it taken this morning by my best friend in the whole world, who just happens to be an awesome photographer, too. I look pretty good for a 48 year old man, if I do say so myself.

Thanks to everyone who continues to support this website and my muddy clip production. You guys and gals are awesome. If there is anyone inside of a 100 mile radius of Jacksonville, NC who I haven’t already met, I’d sure like to hear from them. There just aren’t enough mudders around here. Even if you don’t want to get muddy, but you’d like to watch, I’d love to hear from you. If you’re one of those rare female mudders, please don’t be shy; I don’t bite.

Well I think your doing well for 48, Im 59 now and gained a few pounds. Think with all my mudding and running to or from storms I wouldnt gain weight. Oh well part of getting old I guess. Everyone needs a break now and then from the everyday work schedule. Keep up the good work, sometime next week I need to go get a few buckets of mud to replentish my sink hole. You always seem to loose some with use. Other than the mosquitoes and spiders my sink hole outback has just been great this year. Wish I could find a mudding pal to join me. John

Thanks, John. I know what you mean about losing mud. It’s pretty hard not to carry some away with you, when you get out. The clay pit is the worst for that.
