Thanks for your review. The bright, midday sun was a real challenge. I have only one camera (my professional camera which is rather large and expensive) that can really handle the direct sun and shadow all at once. Unfortunately, I can’t pick the time of day for the best lighting when I have to shoot during low tide and I have so few low tides. I had to choose my posing based on getting the important things out of the shade. I was aware of the dark shadows and I did my best to keep my body out of them when I had a choice.
I hope the dearth of low tides is a seasonal thing, and I’ll have more opportunities to play in the mud this summer. Then maybe I’ll be able to shoot in early morning or evening for better light. A cloudy day also works, but clouds are hard to predict.
