I shot this one on August 27 on Hunters Creek. In this clip, I’m dressed in a sleeveless top, jeans, boots and my trusty hat. I explore the swamp a little before attempting to cross an expanse of quickmud using a grappling hook and a rope for assistance. Things don’t go as planned and I end up disappearing into the quickmud; hat and all. The camera moves closer and closer as this scene progresses, so the ending is pretty graphic. 😉

Hello Doug…
Just finished viewing THE CROSSING…brings back memories of many an old quicksand scene in movies…and one episode of the Lone Ranger too. Perfect camera angle so we can watch the slow sinking. That’s quite a creek bed.
Thanks, Dolphin. I tried to make it exciting. The sun was rather harsh that day, but I have to work with what I have. In retrospect, I can think of a couple more camera angles I would have liked to have gotten. Overall, I think it came out alright. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Hello Doug…
Off on a 23 day cruise (with Molly) down the west coast of Mexico, Central America, and South America. I’ll probably not be using any email while on the cruise…just my preference, since there is shipboard wifi available at some sort of cost. So, I’m sure you’ll have more adventures available while I’m cruising about the Pacific, so don’t get terribly concerned if I’m not responding to the offerings…I sure will respond once I’m again home on October 26th (we fly home from Santiago, Chile on Oct. 25th). On this cruise we are visiting quite a number of archaeological sites from early, early indigenous cultures along the valleys and coastal areas. Looking forward to this a lot.
Cheers………Dolphin
Aha! No worries, Dolphin. I went out at low tide, yesterday, but everything was flooded thanks to recent heavy rainfall. I expected as much.
Enjoy your cruise.
