This is not just a new quicksand clip, it’s my first real quicksand clip. Wet Jeans in Quicksand is more of a “struggling in tight, wet jeans” clip, since I only sink about knee deep in the sand. However, the struggle is 100% real. About the only thing that is staged is that I did it twice, to make the video longer, and edited it all together as one struggle. I added 1.5 minutes of out-takes at the end, because there were some great scenes I had to cut, and the clip was very short.
The description I put on Clips4Sale is pretty good:
This clip features real quicksand. Quicksand is not really deep, but it sets like concrete around a body, trapping the victim in an inescapable grip. In this clip, Doug is exploring in super-tight, wet jeans, a cropped white tee shirt, and boots. He pauses a little too long and finds himself sinking into the sucking sand. When he stops sinking, he finds he cannot move his legs. A sincere, and real struggle ensues, as Doug fights to escape the grip of the treacherous sand.
I sure hope someone enjoys this clip. I had fun making it, and I spent way too much time editing it.

Yes, indeed, I did enjoy your adventure in the spot of quicksand. It brought back memories of my beach adventures with similar kinds of quicksand under the Santa Monica pier and down at the Venice Rocks…I have had much fun sinking in up to the thighs or, on a few occasions, up to my crotch or waist (this was a few summers back when we had some freakish June sub-tropical showers which created some deep quicksand in the runoff culverts that take street runoff into the ocean…I walked up the culvert and began to sink, quickly sinking up to my waist. I didn’t let the quicksand set up, but rather kept pumping my legs to keep water moving around…it worked nicely and I pulled myself out without much difficulty…it was one of the best sinks I’ve every had down at the beach). Down at the Venice rocks, quicksand forms around the base of the rocks as ocean waters comes under the rock jetty formed thigh deep quicksand…it can be much fun to sink into, much like what you found.
So, your adventure was fascinating and brought back many memories. Many, many thanks. I’m hoping that by mid- to late-August I can do limited running on the beach and search out some of the quicksand areas near the rock jetties, both Venice and a little further down the beach at the Washington Street rock groin…the quicksand there is a very fine sand…almost like mud.
Well, I’m glad there was something you liked about it. I must say, I’m kind of partial to the wet jeans look.

That’s really strange, Andy. That was just a 6 minute clip. It was a relatively small file. I wonder if C4S is having trouble. Let’s hope it clears up.
