It was a beautiful, almost fall-like day. The morning was cool but it warmed up fast once the sun got some distance from the horizon. I went out at 10:00am, and I was a little early, but the high tide had been rather anemic, so my peat bog was pretty well drained.
I chose the peat bog because I really wanted to tie myself to something. The peat bog is the only muddy place nearby with trees. I shot a lot of video, but most of it was in the same spot, so I’ll probably edit it down to the best bits. I included some of my struggle in my video trip report. There were some intense moments. Needless to say, I couldn’t fit much into my trip report video (below), partly because there was way too much of it, and partly because my trip report has to include other things, including my cleanup. What else am I going to do with the cleanup video?
Since my entire reason for going into the peat swamp was so I could tie myself to one or more trees, I selected a spot under a large cedar tree. I started out with my genitals tied behind me at ground level and my ankles bound. After untying my ankles, I tied my genitals to a limb above the mud. At some point, I tied my wrists in front of me, and for my bonus track, I put my wrists behind my back for one final struggle. You’re not going to get much of that in the vlog, but you’ll get the general idea. It’s a messy business.
