It’s in the Can

Posted by on March 9, 2012

As they say in the movie biz, it’s in the can. We shot the claypit suspension movie today. The shoot was originally planned for Friday, but the weather was very nice today (Thursday) and the forecast for Friday was deteriorating.

Most everything went to plan. We set up the suspension tripod, two cameras, and a shotgun microphone. We assembled the team. I had Heather Blake operating the main camera and Madalynn-Raye manning the block & tackle that was to lower me into the pit.

After all of the gear was in place, I stripped down to my new swimsuit and got rigged for suspension, with help from Heather Blake. The ladies hoisted me over the pit, and started the recording equipment, as I swung helplessly over the clay. As much as I love to direct my mud features, there wasn’t much more I could do, but trust the two damsels not to drown me in the clay.

As usual, the clay was too thick to just swallow me up. Even with my full body weight on my head and shoulders, I still sank very slowly. It was a lot of fun, though, and I’d say the video recording was a success, so there will be a clip, as soon as it gets through post production. Here are some more still photos that Heather took during the shoot.

Wow, such great photos! It must have been such a turn on to be suspended over that thick, creamy clay in nothing but your speedo-like suit–great suit, by the way–and not have any control. Jealous!

Yes, it was good. I’m glad you like the suit. It’s a new one from BodyAware.com, and I think it’s one of my favorites.
