Another full moon has come and gone. Usually, if there is a full moon anywhere near the weekend and the weather is nice, I’m in over my head in wonderful estuary mud. However, our current weather pattern is producing coastal flooding and messing with my low tides.
I actually went out three times, in case I got a break. I stayed out there and observed the tide movements until I was the tide coming back in. The low tides were non-existent all three days, and the tide was even higher on the day it was predicted to be at it’s lowest. I tried to get creative and shoot some photos and video while I was out.
On Friday, Sept 5, my friend and I paddled to the fallen tree where I have been hanging out, lately. We shot a “stuck” video in jean shorts and my “Be Dirty” crop top. It was fun to shoot with a camera operator, and we were able to get some “action” shots as I navigated the swamp and eventually got stuck, up to my waist in some thick mud.
My friend went back out with me on Saturday, Sept 6, in the hope that we would have a lower tide than the day before. Sadly, the tide was even worse. It was, at that time, that a “coastal flooding advisory” was issued. However, I wasn’t yet aware of it.
There were a couple shots from the “stuck” video we shot on Friday that I wanted to reshoot, so I wore exactly the same clothes and we shot some additional lead-in video for Friday’s clip.
On the way out to the tree, we found a fence post floating in the creek and picked it up for it’s potential in a future mud-bondage video. As it turned out, we used it on Saturday for a quick scene where I was tied to the post and sinking into what little mud was still exposed. The original intent was just to shoot a minute or two of me struggling, but the post started to fall over and, eventually, I was face down in the water with my wrists tied behind the post and my genitals tied to the post. That turned out to be an interesting progression in the video.
When I went back out on Monday, Sept 8, I went alone after work. The tide was even higher than the previous trip, so there was no hope of mudding. I almost decided not to launch my kayak, but I figured I could paddle around and get some exercise, if nothing else.
As it turned out, I recorded some self-bondage scenes in two different locations, including the one we had visited on Friday and Saturday. This time I wore blue briefs and I shot all of the video on my action-cam. It was cloudy, so my action-cam was able to record adequate video. On sunny days, it just can’t capture the highlights and also the shadow detail.
