Why I Don’t Make TikTok Videos

Posted by on September 20, 2022

I shot this in vertical format to see what I might be able to make out of it. This is just embarrassing.

Update: This is an example of the rule that, just because you recorded something, doesn’t mean you need to publish it.

    Hello Doug…

The visuals are scrumptious! Very erotic watching you sinking slowly in the black, bulging brief. The soundtrack, however, leaves a bit to be desired. I’ve most defintely added to my Mudlover folder. Many thanks for the viewing pleasures.

Ha!! Well, I wasn’t really interested in spending any more time on it. 🙂

If I were to do it, again, I’d change the speed to 200% so it lasts only 35 seconds. I also think I screwed up a bit on the luminance adjustments on parts of it. It’s lacking in contrast in a couple places. The challenge was to get some shadow detail, and I went too far. The action cam is easy, but doesn’t give me any control over the exposure.

However, the real problem with making a good, vertical frame video is that I have precious little material to work with. I have to standardize on a format if I’m going to be able to pick the best bits and edit them together. I had to make the “tiktoc” video as a separate piece, because I couldn’t use that shot with the rest of it.

Using the best framing for the subject has obvious advantages, but this was just a failed experiment.

Thanks for the comment. I hope you didn’t miss my earlier post.
