This is the clip I shot on August 30, when I had limited time for messing around; which is literally what I’m doing, out there in the swamp mud. It’s just a barely controlled messing, most of the time.
So I appear in this clip wearing a cropped white t-shirt and wet, black cut-offs. I didn’t plan to get them wet before I started, but I put them on in the water.
The clip is appropriately named, since it is just over 4 minutes long, and I drown in the quickmud. In this clip, I kept my arms out of the mud as long as I could. The sink looks pretty natural, and obviously, it goes pretty fast. The still frames I selected pretty much tell the entire story of this clip. I disappear into the muck, leaving only bubbles.
The great thing about short clips is they’re cheap! I don’t make as much, but if you want a male quicksand (mud) scene and you can’t afford a 20 minute sink, this is your clip! Sudden Death, 2015-08-30

Hi, Andy. I’ve been sucked into the vortex of ridiculous busyness, lately. If it isn’t work, it’s a leaky pipe, a car repair, a broken camera, boats in need of repair, grass that grows 2 inches a day, etc., etc.
I have 90% of my making of a mud movie movie together, so I’ve been working on that when I get a free minute. My trips into the swamp have nearly all turned into paddling trips, because the creek level just won’t drop low enough.
I don’t even know what’s in my queue waiting to be edited. It’s probably nothing special, but it doesn’t matter until I find time to edit it. I had been trying for 3 trips to shoot something in the white t-shirt and black cut-offs. I had hoped to do something more elaborate, but my window of opportunity was just too short.
The business reserves are running low, so I’ll have to focus on paying gigs for a while. That will definitely limit my trips into the swamp. It’s not all bad news, though. I’m doing pretty well, just crazy busy.
