What a trip! The wind was blowing out of the north this morning, which is very unusual this time of year. We had a cold front coming in, but it was still quite warm and sunny. So, with the wind blowing the water out of the estuary, I had an exceptionally low tide that lasted for hours.
I did my first sink of the day in thick mud, with my wrists tied behind my back. I managed to go completely under, but I had to fight for every inch. After that exhausting sink, I pulled on some blue shorts and went slogging around to explore some nearby mud. I slogged through sloppy mud with water over it, shallow mud, and some really deep mud that sucked me completely under.
I think I got a little sunburned, but otherwise, I emerged from the swamp unscathed. It was a good trip. I took my time, enjoyed the mud and the sun, and had a nice, relaxing paddle on the creek. Heather Blake came along and operated the video camera, so I got pretty good video coverage of the entire adventure. She also took all of the still photos you see here. Thank you, Heather.
I’ll be interested to see what you decide to make available on the Clips site from this venture into the swamp. The recent storm did seem to produce more rain at the beach down south…I’m rather busy with conferences now…and two friends from Hendersonville will be in LA Sunday and Monday…I’m the host. So maybe I’ll get down to see if there are any fun mud pools mid-week next week.
I’ll have to make 2 clips from April 27 because the first sink was long and slow. If I put it all together, it would be a very long and expensive clip. Most of my clips are already too long, but people have told me that they want to watch the entire, protracted sink, even if it takes 20 minutes.

I have two more clips to release before the April 27 clips. It might be 10 days, if I don’t have any new clips. If I record yet another clip, I’ll push the clips out faster. When I record a bunch of clips at once, I have to spread out their release dates. New clips are coming soon!
