I got these awesome gold pants a few years ago around Halloween when they were on sale really cheap. I wanted to find a superhero top to go with them, but I never did. I finally purchased the top you see me wearing, here, and discovered that the finish on the pants had been tarnished by something. I decided it was time to wear them into the swamp!
Well, yesterday (Thursday), I took a few hours off from the daily grind to venture into the swamp, and I took the gold pants and black top along. I considered a special agent theme, but that seemed a little overwhelming. I decided to more or less goof off in the really deep, inviting mud.
I had a surprising amount of fun. I hung by my ankles for a while. I jumped off the bamboo pole and sank past my ears, I tried diving off, and I just went completely under for a while.
The video recording turned out really well. I wish all of my videos came out as well as this one. I hid the microphone really close to the action for some very good audio, and both cameras got pretty good angles on the action. The Nikon was in perfect focus and the exposure stayed in a good range, even though some clouds drifted in and out of in front of the sun.
I’m releasing a second video from June 12 on Friday this week. You can expect this video to be released sometime next week, unless I get eaten by an alligator!
It will probably be a while before I can get back out to the swamp during low tide. I’m really glad I got out there, on Thursday.
