Super Moon

2015-08-30_cleanWell, the super moon did nothing to save my streak of tepid low tides. I did manage to have a short sink, but it wouldn’t have been worth the trouble if I hadn’t stopped to record some of the final segments for my documentary. You remember, the documentary that I was supposed to finish this time last year. Sigh, the summer is nearly over and I feel like I haven’t gotten started.

2015-08-30_going-downSo, I arrived at the creek when the tide was still going out. I took advantage of my lead time to record some material for my “Making of a Mud Movie Movie” and snap some still images. The tide went out some while I was doing that, so I paddled to a good sinking hole to shoot some video. By the time I got set up to shoot, it was after 7 pm. I had to wrap up by 7:30 so I could get cleaned up and start back before it got dark. I was already pushing my luck, cleaning up at dusk.

2015-08-30_aftersinkI got into my black cutoffs, set up a single camera, and pretty much jumped right in. It didn’t take long for me to get pulled under, after which I hauled myself out and headed back to my boat to clean up. It really was a quick trip.

You may want to check the 2015 image gallery. I’m going to add a couple more pictures there. I’ll probably publish the video soon. It might be my shortest clip, ever!
