I just had to get out and stretch. I&#8217;d been working around the yard too much, and my back had been nagging me.<\/p>\n<p>I set out just after 3pm. The tide had crested and was just beginning to go out. I rediscovered that I suck at wildlife photography, but my search for a good alligator photo led me to some very treacherous mud. The photo I used here is from my first stop. Later on, I found a really deep spot where I stopped to shoot some video. I wasn&#8217;t even planning to do any mudding, much less shoot video. So, the video was more or less an afterthought with very poor audio. I plan on giving the video to my loyal fans, as soon as I can figure out how. The video is, essentially, a 7-8 minute struggle that ends in total submersion. The mud was thick, but it was pretty easy to sink into. As I sank pretty quickly up to my shoulders, I wondered for a minute if I&#8217;d even be able to get out.
