\"DJT_7370ml\"<\/a>Well, it happened again. We had a mild day and a low tide that wasn’t too early or too late. What’s even better is that it happened on a Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t sure what, if any, video I’d be able to shoot, since I didn’t know just how cold I was going to get in the February mud.<\/p>\n

When I arrived at the chosen spot, the tide was pretty low and there was lots of mud. There was even some new mud that had been deposited over the winter months.<\/p>\n

I knew the water would be cold, so I prepared carefully. I stripped off all of my dry clothes and got a towel out of my dry bag, so I could get dried off and dressed as soon as I had washed and stripped off my muddy clothes. Then I got dressed in a cropped t-shirt and jean shorts and began setting up camera gear.<\/p>\n

\"DJT_7358ml\"<\/a>The video might be okay. I’ve reviewed some of it, and what I’ve seen isn’t bad. I also took some still photos with the DSLR (the images on this blog entry aren’t video frames, although I have some similar looking video). I couldn’t go all the way under in the spot I picked. It really looked promising, and the silt on top had a great “quicksand” look to it. It just wasn’t deep enough, and I wasn’t hell-bent on going completely under, anyway, given that the mud was rather frigid.<\/p>\n

\"DJT_7357ml\"<\/a>So, in a nutshell, I spent some time in mud that eventually got to the lower edge of my cropped t-shirt. It was nice to be back in the mud, again. I was excited to find some new mud, and I’m definitely looking forward to my next trip, which will probably be in a week or two, since the low tide will be too close to sunset after today and the moon is nearly full.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
