I was so excited about getting out to the swamp, I didn&#8217;t even consider the previous day&#8217;s rainfall, which I had recorded on my calendar just 12 hours before.<\/p>\n<p>I paddled around on the creek for a while to see how low the tide would get. It stopped dropping about 6&#8243; short of what would have been a good low tide and as soon as it stopped going out, the water level started to rise very quickly. I was dressed for an explorer video, with boots and jeans. I didn&#8217;t find any good mud, but I definitely did not go home without getting wet. I took some time to walk in the creek, shoot some &#8220;clean&#8221; video, and just enjoy the cool water. The water is fresh and cool after a heavy rain. I went in up to my shoulders. I find it erotic to wear tight, wet jeans, so the trip wasn&#8217;t without joy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mudlover.com\/theswamp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-08-12_crotch.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3251\" src=\"https:\/\/mudlover.com\/theswamp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-08-12_crotch-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"2015-08-12_crotch\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mudlover.com\/theswamp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-08-12_crotch-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mudlover.com\/theswamp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-08-12_crotch-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mudlover.com\/theswamp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-08-12_crotch.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Sadly, that was the last time I managed to get out on the creek at low tide. I&#8217;ve had a couple other trips scheduled and they were both cancelled due to rain. We&#8217;ve had about 2&#8243; (5 cm) of rainfall per week, lately, and it always seems to rain the day before or the day of an exploitable low tide.<\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;m making this post to let everyone know I&#8217;m not dead, and I&#8217;m leaving you with some lame photos of me in my kayak. This time of year is usually like this, so I am not surprised. I hate to see summer drawing to a close, again. If it were up to me, it would be warm all year &#8217;round. (Don&#8217;t worry, there are still 2 good months of mudding left, but it will begin cooling off, soon.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure I have some unpublished video I can release. I&#8217;ve been busy with administrative busywork for the past few weeks. I&#8217;ve missed a couple good sinking days because of meetings and appointments.
