I was out last week on Thursday and I stopped by my peat mud hole to see how it weathered the winter. I hadn&#8217;t really planned to sink, because it was getting late, but the peat mud looked so good, I had to jump in for a quick struggle. I did shoot some video on the GoPro, but I didn&#8217;t set up an audio recorder, or my main camera. I inadvertently found some quicksand that was about crotch deep. I don&#8217;t know if I could make a video in that spot, but it was kind of fun, getting swallowed, unexpectedly, by the harmless looking sand. I&#8217;m pretty sure this won&#8217;t be the last you&#8217;ll hear about that spot. I will have to go back there, sometime, just for the novelty of it. Next time, I&#8217;ll get some video.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, I&#8217;m doing pretty well. The weather is warming up. The forecast is for temperatures in the 80&#8217;s tomorrow (26+ Celsius). The low tide tomorrow will be pretty late, so I doubt I&#8217;ll do much in the mud, but I might go out in my kayak if I have nothing else I need to do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This update is a little late.
